The already massive Overcranked Festival has just become even bigger, with the addition of Oz-punk icons Frenzal Rhomb, Sydney pop-thrashers The Hard-Ons, Oz’s leading power-metallers Lord, the legendary (Jobson’s)Dreamkillers, The Amity Affliction - Qld’s premier screamo act; Byron Bay hardcore heroes 50 Lions, Stoner-riffers Rollerball, The newly re-formed tech-grind machine Beijing Tank and Tas-wegian black-metallers Ruins. Also there's still plenty more to be announced!

The Overcranked Festival is on again! Overcranked began in 2001 as a small indoor festival at a pub, with 2 stages, 18 bands and 400 attendees. Fast forward to 2006, Overcranked drew 2,500 punters with 40 bands performing over 4 stages.Looking even bigger again, Overcranked 07 brings together everything rock, metal, punk, hardcore… anything that’s loud and proud!

We are extremely proud to announce HELMET as the headlining act for Overcranked 2007. Forefathers of the post-hardcore/punk genre, HELMET’s sound sparked a new brand of metal, crossing all traditional music boundaries, and paving the way for bands like Deftones, Killswitch Engage, Norma Jean and Silverchair, among many others The band--founding vocalist/guitarist PAGE HAMILTON, guitarist CHRIS TRAYNOR and new members, drummer MIKE JOST and bassist JEREMY CHATELAIN--will headline the 4th installment of the Overcranked festival.
THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT are an acclaimed Australian Rock act, with solid writing skills, amazing live shows and commitment to hard work. Constantly touring in Australia and overseas, the band has performed over 450 live shows and gigs in Australia and will bring their thunderous show to Overcranked 07.
GOD FORBID, the mighty New Jersey-based quintet have forged their own unique path and stretched their musical boundaries to the very limit while creating a thought-provoking conceptual opus that will undoubtedly stand the test of time. In their first ever Australian tour, God Forbid are sure to force Australian audiences to take notice.
New Zealand's premier metal band 8-FOOT SATIVA have risen from the Wild West of Auckland to becoming a household name and creating metal history in New Zealand. The debut album HATE MADE ME entered the NZ Album charts at number 43 and the new album SEASON FOR ASSAULT entered the NZ album chart at Number 6!
In an age of overnight success and next big things it's easy to forget about the real bands. At least for a little while…SUNK LOTO came out of hiding and secured their new lineup on the Australian October tour with COG and have spent the last 12 months writing the follow up to their breakthrough ‘Between Birth and Death’ album. But before they bunker down in the recording studio early next year they are bringing their energetic live show to Overcranked.
HORSELL COMMON members Leigh Pengelly (Drums), Luke Cripps (Bass) and Mark Stewart (Vocals / Guitar) are as close to brothers as you can get without, Ya know, having the same mother. It’s this brotherly energy that has given Horsell Common a reputation as one of the most outstanding heavy rock outfits on the Australian live touring circuit. With over 200 shows under their belts, and a massive slew of press praising their performances, Horsell Common have risen to the occasion with their new record “Satellite Wonderland”, creating a record that captures the energy and passion of their live show – and displays their ability to write music that’s as technically brilliant as it is melodic.
From humble beginnings rehearsing in their singer’s tin shed, and selling off cds so they could afford to buy new strings and drumsticks, REPEAT OFFENDER have played alongside such acts as The Used, Story of the year, The Butterfly Effect, Killswitch Engage and many more. If you've ever been to a REPEAT OFFENDER show, you’ll know very well how these 5 Brisbane boys have managed to build such a cult following across the country:
PSYCROPTIC formed in Hobart, Tasmania in 1999 with members Joe Haley (Guitars), Cameron Grant (Bass), Matthew Chalk (Vocals), and David Haley (Drums), With Symbols of Failure released in February 2006, and PSYCROPTIC have already completed an Australian national tour and 2 European tours in support of the album. 2007 will see the band tour Europe with Deicidein Jan 2007 and make their debut US performance at the Maryland Deathfest.
AGAINST are a hardcore band hailing from Brisbane, Australia. Vocalist Greg first formed the group in September 2001, with the intention of having fun with some friends and playing hardcore music with heart and a message. Constant touring across australia with bands such as Mindsnare and Champion, as well as sharing the stage with such bands as AFI, Terror, Madball, Cro-Mags, Boysetsfire and Ensign, has helped pave their path to success and allowed them to thoroughly "road-test" their sound.
In 2003 MOURNING TIDE released their successful self-titled debut EP, through Modern Music/Sony /BMG. With a loyal fan base continuing to grow Australia-wide and a reputation for their blistering live shows, MOURNING TIDE have produced a mind-blowing LP, that will dazzle their current fans and excite new listeners looking for something out of the ordinary.
Let’s be honest, no-one really cares how the band formed, or when, or anything else like that. So let’s just settle for saying that THE RIVALRY are six dudes playing brutal metal with a number of other influences, with the hope of appealing to people who like their metal a little left of centre.
Traveling from interstate to appear at Overcranked are TERRORUST (VIC), who spawned the legendary Damaged, PATHOGEN (WA), who combine intricate and epic melodies with powerful groove sections and laden with rich acoustic passages, CITY IN PANIC (NSW), who admit to having a badly choreographed stage show, but love to have fun and party and DYSCORD (WA) who fuse many different facets of heavy music into a cohesive and well structured sound.
Also appearing at Overcranked will be local Brisbane acts MINUS LIFE who are leading the Brisbane metal circuit, WESTERN DECAY who are a thrashing melodic death metal band from Brisbane with a thirst for beer, ART VANDALAY, dare we mention seinfield and DEAD LETTER CIRCUS with their unique blend of country metal monkey midget hip-hop dance.
