In 1996 Pathogen released their 1st demo entitled Tyranny of Hatred which sold out in the first few months of its release and helped Pathogen establish an underground following. Their 2nd demo Nightfall was released in 1998 and it was this that established Pathogen as one of the most respected local metal acts in Perth.
In 2002, Pathogen commenced work on their much anticipated debut album Bloodline. This album showcases the best of Pathogens material, written and refined over the previous 7 years. Pathogen have long been revered as a band that provides an explosive live performance and recently toured the country to sellout shows with Finland's Children of Bodom, where they recriuited a new army of loyal fans. Pathogen have also also performed with other international acts, such as Opeth (Sweden), Fear Factory (USA), Dark Tranquillity (Sweden)Mayhem (Norway), Entombed (Sweden), (USA), Impaled Nazarene (Finland) and As I Lay Dying (USA), The Black Dahlia Murder (USA)Pathogen have begun to take their energetic stage show to audiences around Australia, a move that has seen them become requested regularly for various interstate concerts and festivals, fast confirming Pathogen as the most promising active metal band in Australia today.
